However, multiples do tend to gain weight more slowly than the typical half a pound each week that singleton babies gain during the late third trimester.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What are your babies busy with this week? Let\u2019s explore their development and talk about how we can help make this a great week for you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How are the babies?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your babies are keeping their eyes open while they\u2019re awake. It will be amazing when you get to gaze into their eyes in the coming weeks! What color do you think they\u2019ll be?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019re getting bigger and stronger, but their bones are still relatively soft. Their brains are continuing to develop every day, transforming what used to be a smooth surface into all the grooves and wrinkles you\u2019re used to seeing in pictures of brains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their kicks may feel stifled as they get bigger, but counting them is still important (try <a href=\"https:\/\/oviahealth.onelink.me\/jJRi\/c139e062\">Ovia\u2019s kick counter<\/a>!). Try to pick a time each day to count kicks as a way of monitoring your babies\u2019 health. If you have difficulty deciphering who\u2019s doing the kicking, ask your healthcare provider if there\u2019s any way you can make that determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your babies weigh around 4.5 pounds each now \u2014 about the size of a cauliflower blossom!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How are you doing?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oviahealth.com\/guide\/10266\/insomnia-during-pregnancy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Insomnia<\/a> taking its toll? Between racing thoughts and raging hormones, sleep can be hard to come by. Not to mention, you\u2019re probably more than a little uncomfortable most nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven\u2019t already, think about investing in a sleep pillow. There are some that have been designed with pregnancy in mind that can help you clock a longer snooze session.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s normal to feel more stressed or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oviahealth.com\/guide\/107384\/pep-pregnancy-hr-managing-anxiety-pregnancy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">anxious<\/a> than usual as you approach the finish line. However, you should talk with your healthcare provider if you feel overwhelmed by feelings of depression and anxiety. Seeking professional support can be helpful as you navigate this major life change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sex may be the last thing on your mind, or you may still be into getting intimate. Sex can be completely normal and healthy until labor, unless your provider has told you to avoid anything in the vagina. This might be related to your risk for preterm labor or the position of your placenta. Barring those situations, if you\u2019re in the mood, go for it! It can be a great way to relieve some of that stress and connect with your partner before your babies arrive. And, it can help prepare your cervix for labor as semen contains prostaglandins, a substance that helps soften the cervix!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Let\u2019s plan ahead!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your provider might modify your activity level if you find it too difficult to work or stand for prolonged periods. In some cases, you may be eligible for short-term disability payments if you can no longer comfortably do your job.
