{"id":2003,"date":"2021-02-03T10:24:51","date_gmt":"2021-02-03T15:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.oviahealth.com\/guide\/2003\/pregnancy-recipe-cranberry-range-scones\/"},"modified":"2021-10-20T16:48:36","modified_gmt":"2021-10-20T20:48:36","slug":"pregnancy-recipe-cranberry-range-scones","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.oviahealth.com\/guide\/2003\/pregnancy-recipe-cranberry-range-scones\/","title":{"rendered":"Cranberry orange scones healthy pregnancy recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"span12 analysis-feedback\">\n<div class=\"media\"><a class=\"pull-left\" href=\"#\"> <\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"media-body\">\n<p>With a healthy helping of Vitamin C to help keep your immune system strong and your baby healthy, as well as the carbohydrates you need to stay energized throughout the long day, these cranberry orange scones make for a wonderful pregnancy breakfast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yields:<\/strong> 10-12<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"resource-content\">\n<div class=\"row-fluid\">\n<h4><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup All- Purpose Flour<\/li>\n<li>1 cup Whole Wheat Flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup of sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon of orange zest<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. baking soda<\/li>\n<li>6 Tbsp. of butter {chilled}, cut into small pea size pieces<\/li>\n<li>1 cup fresh cranberries<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of vanilla flavored greek yogurt<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, orange zest, baking powder and baking soda.<\/li>\n<li>Use a pastry blender, or two knives, to cut butter until it resembles small peas and add the butter to flour mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in the cranberries.<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, mix together the egg and yogurt.<\/li>\n<li>Stir the yogurt mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.<\/li>\n<li>Dump the dough onto a work surface and \u201cknead\u201d 3-4 times. {as much as you can, it will be very crumbly}<\/li>\n<li>Pat into a circle about 1\/2 an inch thick.<\/li>\n<li>Cut into 10-12 wedges and transfer to a baking sheet.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 12-14 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Image and recipe reprinted with permission from www.joyfulhealthyeats.com and www.healthyaperture.com<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With a healthy helping of vitamin C to help keep your immune system strong and your baby healthy, these cranberry orange scones make for a wonderful pregnancy breakfast.
