The immunizations that <span class=\"pronoun-they\" data-pronoun=\"they\">they will<\/span> receive in <span class=\"pronoun-theirs\" data-pronoun=\"theirs\">theirs<\/span> second year and onward through early childhood will continue to do the same. Many of the first doses of the vaccines that <span class=\"pronoun-baby\" data-pronoun=\"baby\">Baby<\/span> received in <span class=\"pronoun-theirs\" data-pronoun=\"theirs\">theirs<\/span> first year will be followed up with final doses during these years to fully protect <span class=\"pronoun-them\" data-pronoun=\"them\">them<\/span> from those diseases. You can expect more vaccines later in childhood and into the teen years, as well as some shots that will be given every year, like the flu shot.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The recommended immunization schedule for most all children ages two through four is as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>18 months old<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diphtheria, Tetanus, and acellular Pertussis (DTaP) \u2014 4th dose (can be given at 15-18 months old)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hepatitis A (HepA) \u2014 2nd dose<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2 years old<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Influenza (IIV or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LAIV) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014 1-2 doses annually* (see notes below)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3 years old<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Influenza (IIV or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LAIV) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014 1-2 doses annually* (see notes below)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4 years old<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diphtheria, Tetanus, and acellular Pertussis (DTaP) \u2014 5th dose (can be given at 4-6 years old)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inactivated poliovirus (IPV) \u2014 4th dose<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Influenza (IIV or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LAIV) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014 1-2 doses annually* (see notes below)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) \u2014 2nd dose (can be given at 4-6 years old)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Varicella (VAR) \u2014 2nd dose (can be given at 4-6 years old)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The diseases these vaccines protect against can be particularly dangerous for children, so it\u2019s important that <span class=\"pronoun-baby\" data-pronoun=\"baby\">Baby<\/span> sticks with a regular immunization schedule. If your little one misses a scheduled vaccination for any reason, be sure to let your child\u2019s healthcare provider know so that they can help <span class=\"pronoun-baby\" data-pronoun=\"baby\">Baby<\/span> get back on track as soon as possible. If you have any questions about immunizations, you should speak with your child\u2019s healthcare provider \u2014 they\u2019re there to help.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*A note on the Influenza (IIV or LAIV), or flu, vaccines. If a child of this age has received at least two influenza vaccine doses before July 1, 2019, they should now receive one dose. If a child of this age has received fewer than two influenza vaccine doses before July 1, 2019, or whose influenza vaccination history is unknown, they should now receive two doses.
