These regulations include:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Requiring the provider to be a licensed physician<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prohibiting abortion after a certain gestational age<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banning intact dilation and evacuation (sometimes called &#8216;late-term&#8217; or &#8220;partial-birth&#8217; abortion)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not allowing public funds, including Medicaid, to be used for abortion<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regulating abortion coverage by private insurers<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Waiting periods (usually 24 hours) between counseling and procedure<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of these regulations, abortion services are often difficult to access in some parts of the United States. Many physicians and other healthcare providers offer abortion services, as do women&#8217;s health centers, such as Planned Parenthood.
