Baby<\/span>\u2019s life is full of firsts and milestones – it\u2019s one of the hazards of being brand new to the planet. For the first couple of years, at least, almost everything is a brand new experience, and while plenty of those firsts get lovingly documented, if you tried to make a scrapbook page for all of them, you wouldn\u2019t have the time to watch them happen! Here are a few of the most commonly (and tragically) missed photo opportunities.<\/p>\n

  1. The first time Baby<\/span> smiles at you on purpose<\/strong>
    \nThere\u2019s no way to know when that moment is coming – unlike the days leading up to their<\/span> first steps, which will probably include a few failed attempts, and a whole lot of building up the muscles and balance they is<\/span> going to need, Baby<\/span> probably isn\u2019t going to give you any signs that they is<\/span> gearing up to grace you with their<\/span> first ever social smile. On the bright side, you\u2019ll still get plenty of other chances to photograph their<\/span> toothless grin.<\/li>\n
  2. When Baby<\/span> makes eye contact with you while feeding<\/strong>
    \nIt\u2019s such a gentle, sweet expression on their<\/span> face, and at an angle that you may never get again once they starts<\/span> on solids. But whether you breast or bottle feed, you still never seem to have quite enough hands to snap a shot in the moment.<\/li>\n
  3. Baby<\/span>\u2019s first laugh<\/strong>
    \nThere\u2019s a good chance you were too busy being their<\/span> favorite comedian to stop to take a picture!<\/li>\n
  4. Baby<\/span>\u2019s first big mealtime mess<\/strong>
    \nIt might not have happened the first time Baby<\/span> is presented with solids, when you were expecting the big photo-op and they<\/span> hadn\u2019t figured out quite what food is. But some time in their<\/span> first few weeks of adventures in solid food, the photogenic-in-hindsight mess of Baby<\/span>\u2019s first food fight appeared – the question is, did you get a picture?<\/li>\n
  5. The \u2018here and gone again\u2019 hair and eyes<\/strong>
    \nIf Baby<\/span> is one of the many children who was born with a hair or eye color that disappeared in their<\/span> first few weeks or months of life, you may have thought<\/em> you were getting enough pictures of those pale blue eyes or temporary curls. But as soon as they\u2019re gone, and Baby<\/span>\u2019s hair and eyes have settled into their permanent color, you might reach a point where you wish you had more. It doesn\u2019t matter how many you do<\/em> have – you\u2019ll still want just a couple extra.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
