But these questions are a sign that your little one\u2019s mind is growing right on track. While the most urgent questions used to be <span class=\"pronoun-them\" data-pronoun=\"them\">them<\/span> asking you to identify objects for <span class=\"pronoun-them\" data-pronoun=\"them\">them<\/span>, which helped to expand <span class=\"pronoun-their\" data-pronoun=\"their\">their<\/span> vocabulary, <span class=\"pronoun-they\" data-pronoun=\"they\">they may<\/span> now be asking \u201cwhy\u201d as a way of making sense of the confusing world around <span class=\"pronoun-them\" data-pronoun=\"them\">them<\/span>. After all, for young children, even some very basic ideas are brand new.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some questions have simple answers, while others are more challenging. <span class=\"pronoun-baby\" data-pronoun=\"baby\">Baby<\/span> may start asking about God and religion, body parts and babies, the connection between animals and the food you eat. You get the picture. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are some tips for fielding the big questions from your little one without breaking a sweat.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Keep it age appropriate <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The good news about tough questions at this age is your toddler will generally be satisfied with some basic information. <span class=\"pronoun-they\" data-pronoun=\"they\">They may<\/span> want to know how the baby will get out of your tummy, you probably have a few more years before you have to explain how it got in there. Offer simple answers to <span class=\"pronoun-baby\" data-pronoun=\"baby\">Baby<\/span>, and expand on your explanations as <span class=\"pronoun-they\" data-pronoun=\"they\">they grows<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Admit you don\u2019t know<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes, <span class=\"pronoun-baby\" data-pronoun=\"baby\">Baby<\/span> is probably going to ask questions you don\u2019t have answers ready for. When it comes to questions about the nature of the universe, for example, you may find yourself as puzzled as <span class=\"pronoun-they\" data-pronoun=\"they\">they is<\/span>.
